Erin Christie defines herself as a social interaction communication scholar, with research interests that include identity and interaction, work, and qualitative research methods. She is specifically trained in interpretive microanalysis.

Research
Erin Christie's most recent scholarship includes a book chapter found within the "International Encyclopedia of Organizational Communication" to be published in 2017 by Wiley Blackwell Publisher. She has many conference papers, received two top paper awards, has been awarded for outstanding excellence in teaching, and has several peer reviewed publications.
