Richard Dool is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Communication. He also directs two master’s programs for the School of Communication and Information (MCM & MHCI). He is a former CEO and Global Executive Leader paying it forward as a Graduate Director, Professor & Leadership Advisor. His research interests are in the areas of organizational renewal and transformations as well as leadership communication. He has been teaching and publishing in these areas since 2003. Before Dool decided to pivot and pay it forward in academia full time, he had an extensive and diverse corporate executive career. His executive experience includes leading an $800M division of AT&T, global leadership roles at GE, and serving for 12 years as CEO of both public and private companies.

Research
Dool is an active researcher and presenter in the areas of organizational transformations and renewals as well as leadership communication. He has published and presented on the concepts of Change FatigueTM, Enervative Change, and LeaderocityTM. Dool also presents on topics related to online pedagogy and remote learning. He has been teaching online since 2003, and holds several certifications in online learning, instruction, and course development.
