TIPP Thank a Teacher Initiative

Over 1000 Rutgers University-New Brunswick students thanked more than 700 Rutgers instructors by writing them personal notes during the “Thank An Instructor Appreciation Event” hosted in January 2025 by the Rutgers Institute for Teaching, Innovation, & Inclusive Pedagogy (TIIP).

Of the 700 instructors thanked, numerous SC&I faculty members were included.

“Congratulations to the SC&I faculty, lecturers, and Ph.D. student instructors who received thanks for their teaching as part of the Institute for Teaching, Innovation, & Inclusive Pedagogy's fall 2024 Thank An Instructor Appreciation Event!” said SC&I Associate Dean for Programs and Professor of Journalism and Media Studies Susan Keith. “About two dozen full-time SC&I faculty and a number of lecturers and Ph.D. students were honored in this new TIIP initiative for making a difference in students' lives.”

Thanking the participating students, TIPP wrote on its website, “Our Thank an Instructor initiative has been a tremendous success! We are thrilled to share that over 1,000 heartfelt notes were submitted to honor more than 700 instructors. Thank you to all the students at Rutgers University–New Brunswick who took the time to recognize the educators who have made a meaningful impact on their academic journeys. These thoughtful messages will be shared with instructors as a reminder of the difference they make.”
