Thirteen Rutgers School of Communication and Information (SC&I) alumni were selected as members of the Emerging Leaders Class of 2021 by the New Jersey Library Association (NJLA), the state’s oldest and largest library organization. Now in its 19th year, the Emerging Leaders program is open to NJLA member librarians in good standing who have been working in libraries for five years or less.
This year’s Emerging Leaders training program, sponsored by NJLA, the Professional Development Committee, and the Leadership and Education committee (co-chaired by Stephen Hrubes ’11), brought together 30 participants from public and academic libraries throughout the state. Held virtually, the program provided leadership training and networking opportunities for librarians new to the profession or new to New Jersey librarianship.
