Communication faculty and students will attend the Central States Communication Association Conference (CSCA) in St. Louis, Missouri, from Wednesday, March 29, through Sunday, April 2. The convention’s theme is “Intersections, Transitions, and Silenced Voices.”

Faculty and students from SC&I's Communication Department will attend the 114th Eastern Communication Association (ECA) conference at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, from March 29–April 2. The ECA is a professional organization of scholars, teachers, and Communication Studies students. Initially established in 1910, it continues as the oldest professional communication association in the United States.

The Department of Communication in the School of Communication and Information (SC&I), Rutgers University–New Brunswick, will launch its second annual #BeCOMM communications and social media campaign to celebrate and promote the communication major at Rutgers and inform undeclared majors, transfer students, and prospective Rutgers students about majoring in communication at SC&I.

DEWG’s Co-Chair, SC&I Associate Professor of Communication Jeff Lane, explains the mission of a group of faculty members and students from Rutgers and beyond who are working together through DEWG to advance methods of collecting research data from many kinds of populations, even those living in communities considered to be sensitive, vulnerable, or hard to reach.

SC&I’s Digital Asset Management program co-founder and Co-Academic Director David Lipsey is chair of the Henry Stewart Digital Asset Management (DAM) Conference: “DAM Los Angeles 2023: The Art and Practice of Managing Digital Media.” Two of SC&I’s DAM instructors, Google Marketing Operations DAM Program Lead Kathleen Cameron and Chromata Solution Managing Partner Neil Bilow, are featured speakers at the conference.

The aim of this year’s incubator, hosted by and for the school’s scholarly community, was “to explore the connections among DEI&A and the digitalization of life and living for the conduct of inclusive discovery in SC&I’s research and pedagogy, especially as it relates to insights and innovations in the methodologies and methods SC&I uses and teaches.”

Held on April 7, 2023, Rutgers’ celebration will include readings and performances in many languages and a focus on Rutgers’ International Youth Literature Collection.
