JMS Specializations

JMS Requirements and Courses

The JMS program consists of 33 credits for the major plus an interdisciplinary requirement for all SC&I majors.

JMS Admissions

Admission to the JMS program is selective. Before you can apply to the JMS major, you must first meet these requirements.

Journalism and Media Studies Major

Our graduates launch careers in television news, digital news, public relations, marketing, business, publishing and politics.

MI 5+ Year Program

Rutgers SC&I ITI majors who have completed 90 credits may apply to earn an ITI bachelor’s degree and Master of Information (MI) degree in five years of continuous study.
