A new five-part video education series, “Curbside Manner: Health Beyond the Hospital,” has been created by RWJBarnabas Health.

“Takeover,” a documentary chronicling the day in 1970 when the New York Young Lords occupied Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx, explains how the protest and takeover ultimately led to a new understanding that health care is a basic right for all Americans, as well as a national Patient Bill of Rights.

Rosie earned a bachelor of arts in Journalism and Mass Media. She spent most of her career as a senior producer and is now a business administration manager with CNN. She is the recipient of three Peabody Awards for broadcast journalism and MADD Media Awards. 

Founded by alumni Kayla Michele ‘17 and Chisa Egbelu ‘16, PeduL “harnesses tailored corporate scholarships to match underrepresented students with the internships and career opportunities that best meet employers’ needs.” PeduL recently received a grant from Google, and they have also recently been invited to join one of most successful accelerators in the country, Techstars.

In his newest book, “Four Streets and a Square,” Marc Aronson explores 400 years of Manhattan’s history, with a focus on what he has coined “The New York City Idea”: the value of mixture, of people, of ideas, and of cultures found in New York City.”
