Public librarianship and school librarianship each require professional certification with unique regulations and procedures. If you are seeking the Master of Information, Library and Information Science concentration or School Librarianship concentration, follow the information in this section to determine what is relevant to your academic and career goals.
To work in New Jersey public libraries, you must obtain a Professional Librarian Certification from the State of New Jersey. The certification process has been transferred from the New Jersey Department of Education to Thomas Edison State College.
